IT ALL STARTED WITH A MOUSE
Beyond being able to pull of a Hadouken in Street Fighter, I believe in touching all bases when it comes to game development. My focus in games is discovering groundbreaking innovations and working towards more of a design discipline. I also enjoy dabbling in concept art illustration, game design in Unity, voxel modeling in MagickaVoxel, environment design in UnrealEngine, and creating fan art and interacting with passionate game developers. Authentic engagement and community are at the forefront of my career in games. Beyond creating an eclectic development portfolio, my love for games extends into a podcast centered around the gaming industry, playtesting, game design, a novel inspired by games and comics, to expressive concept art. Games are expressions of art, and it is my mission to strive everyday to share new stories and expand the way we experience them. It's all a part of storytelling.
From the minute my dad brought home a used Sega Genesis and a copy of the not so popular platformer Mickey Mania, I was hooked. From there, I built a collection of games and consoles that is both eclectic and all encompassing. I enjoy playing all matter of games, from Japanese role playing games, to first person shooters, real time strategy games, fighting games, open world, and more.
Outside of volunteering at the local video game club at my college, I've also had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with prominent members of games journalism and development from Kinda Funny's Greg Miller, to interviewing Thomas Was Alone/John Wick Hex developer Mike Bithell, Adam Sessler from G4's X-Play, Blake J. Harris (Author of Console Wars) to the team over at Polyknight Games in Dallas. I've also worked at Gearbox Studios, which was an amazing experience that gave me hands on experience working on a major video game. In August, I was also a guest on Colin's Last Stand: Fireside Chats promoting my book. Shortly after in September, I got my first full time position at PeopleFun as a Mobile Games Quality Assurance Analyst and have grown in that position to head of Unity games testing at the studio.
I'm also a big fan of the Video Game History Museum in Frisco, TX and can be regularly found at Nerdvana playing Overcooked and eating a mighty burger.
